Masaryk University, located in Brno, is the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic and the leading higher education institution in Moravia. It is recognized as one of the most important teaching and research institutions in the Czech Republic and a highly-regarded Central European university. Masaryk University is currently educating over 35 000 students, 20 % of them international. The Faculty of Informatics was established in 1994 as the very first specialized faculty of its kind in the Czech Republic. The field of study Information Technology Secury focuses on areas of security in computer systems and networks, cryptography and its applications. The aim is to prepare such a graduate who will be able to work in a variety of roles critical to ensure security of ICTs – specific profiling beyond a common basis of field of study is left to the choice of the student. The orientation Security of Information and Communication Technologies prepares graduates to work in the area of the development and management of systems that support security, or to properly select and apply cryptographic methods to ensure specific security functions.
