Admission and entrance exams

Entrance Procedures

The entrance procedures begin with the submission of an electronic application to be accepted for a study programme. The application form is not complicated to fill in, as the form itself gives guidelines on what to fill in, and how to do it. Thanks to the electronic application procedure, you will be able to watch your data throughout the application procedures.

Applicants for a place on a study progamme who have a disability can ask for specific needs and requirements in relation to the disability to be taken into account in the entrance examinations. Services for applicants with a disability are offered by the ELSA Guidance and Support Centre for Students with Special Needs, which you should contact in the event that you wish to apply for an adjustment to the conditions for the entrance examinations.

The CTU faculties and institutes set their own deadline and dates for the entrance procedures.

 

What are the conditions for acceptance in a study programme?

Bachelor study programme

  • A certificate of successful graduation from a secondary school
  • A duly completed and submitted application for a study programme
  • Documentary evidence that fees and charges have been paid
  • Compliance with the requirements for the entrance procedures according to the requirements of the respective faculty

Master study programme

  • Graduation from an appropriate bachelor study programme
  • A duly completed and submitted application for a study programme
  • Documentary evidence that fees and charges have been paid
  • Compliance with the requirements for the entrance procedures according to the requirements of the respective faculty

Doctoral study programme

  • Graduation from an appropriate master study programme
  • A duly completed and submitted application for a study programme

Accommodation

The Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) provides accommodation in 8 complexes via the Service Facility Administration. Of this, the dormitory complex in Strahov offers accommodation capacities for 4,600 persons, the Podolí dormitory complex offers 1,000 places, and other accommodation is provided by smaller dormitories concentrated mainly in the Dejvice campus, e.g. the Dejvická and Sinkuleho dormitories. In total, the SFA Czech Technical University in Prague provides 7,500 accommodation places.

Canteens

CTU operates a number of student canteens called “Menza” in Czech language, located on the Dejvice main campus, in the main dormitories, and in some faculty buildings. The canteens offer lunch, and in some cases breakfast, dinner and all-day buffet services in many cases. The canteens are inexpensive, and the food is healthy and nutritious. Of course, the food that you are used to may be very different, and it may take you some time to acquire a taste for Czech food. You will also find meals that are gluten-free. All offered meals are visible on a TV screen so you can see exactly how it looks.
