Student Ambassadors: Karol from Poland
I studied at VŠTE in České Budějovice twice for one semester: first in 2016 and second one year later in 2017. My major was Transport construction, roads railways and infrastructure. The activities I had enjoyed the most were laboratories, field trips to Germany and Austria, and other construction in the area. Language learning and working on projects for technical subjects with other classmates was also fun.
I was very happy with the two semesters spent in České Budějovice, I felt at home there like at my home university in Poland. The people were nice, the campus was close to everything and the surrounding neighborhood of the campus was quiet and peaceful. The first week of my first stay was enchanting. I met a friend Andreas with whom I have a real friendship up to this day.
Erasmus changed my perception of the world and made me a more open-minded person. Thanks to my Erasmus experience, making contacts is much easier, I speak English every day and all this makes it easier to find a job abroad. For other international students coming to the Czech Republic, I would just recommend trying the beer; in some pubs, beer is cheaper than water in there!
